Remote Education
Remote Education
During the Covid-19 pandemic, many schools experienced periods of closure and the use of remote education was required. We provided live and recorded lessons and other lesson resources via Microsoft Teams alongside using our existing subscriptions to educational resources such as Accelerated Reader. We ran regular check-ins with pupils via Teams calls and telephone calls to support student engagement and wellbeing.
The government’s non-statutory guidance makes it clear that remote education should only ever be a last resort where attendance at school is not possible, but pupils are able to continue their learning. This is likely to be a government decision, as in the case of the pandemic.
If there is a need for remote education at Oldfields Hall Middle School, our approach will be clearly communicated to our pupils and parents and will appear on this website. Our approach is likely to be similar to the approach adopted in 2020 and 2021.
