Year 4 Transition

Year 4 Transition

Welcome to our school.

We are very excited to welcome you to Oldfields Hall Middle School in September.

My name is Mr Parkes and I am going to be your progress manager in year 5.  I am also the teacher of Art and for this year overseeing the Design & Technology department.

Mr Parkes

I am very much looking forward to seeing how artistic and creative you all are and getting to know you. During year 5 I will be responsible for ensuring that you are making good progress at school and that you are enjoying and making the most from your education here.

Oldfields has a lot to offer, not just in the classroom and helping you to learn new subjects and topics, but extra-curricular clubs too, such as social club, music clubs, food club, art club and many sporting clubs that run during lunchtimes and after school.

We ask that as an Oldfields pupil, you are punctual for school with the correct uniform and equipment for the day. Being organised and completing school homework and tasks in lesson to the best of your capability is a vital requirement for you to make good progress. We want you to embrace all that Oldfields has to offer and we want you to enjoy all aspects of your schooling here, by showing respect for all and making a difference in our school community.

We will during these uncertain times remain in touch with you and your parents to keep you up to date with transition opportunities as and when we are able.

Until then, keep home learning, keep in touch with us here at Oldfields and we look forward to seeing you in September!

Hello Year 4!

Mrs Gilbert

My name is Mrs Gilbert and I will be a Year 5 form tutor in September.
This is my 22nd year teaching at Oldfields!
As well as a year 5 form tutor, I also teach some of the KS2 subjects and lots of RE. Therefore, I will probably see most of you for a few different lessons each week as well as see you twice a day for form time.
When I am not at school teaching, I spend quality time with my family and animals. I am a massive animal lover and have two horses, a dog and a hamster. I also really enjoy sport, in particular football. I am a Stoke City supporter!
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in September and hearing about your summer adventures.
See you soon!

Mrs Horden

My name is Mrs Hordern, I will be a Year 5 form tutor in September.
This is my 10th year teaching at Oldfields.
As well as a year 5 form tutor, I also teach most KS2 subjects therefore I will probably see most of you in the year.
When I’m not at school teaching, I spend quality time with my family and friends.
I enjoy the outdoors, going for walks, bike rides and gardening as well as baking.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in September and hearing about your summer adventures.

Mrs McBride

My name is Mrs McBride and I will be a Year 5 form teacher.
I teach Music to everyone in the school so I will get to meet you all even if you aren’t in my class!
I play the clarinet, saxophone and piano and I’m looking forward to teaching you all to play the recorder next year. We have lots of fun singing and trying out many different instruments in our Music lessons.
In my spare time I sing in a choir, play in a band and love to ice skate!
I can’t wait to meet you all in September!

My name is Mrs Birch and I joined the Oldfields team just last year.
I teach in the Maths department but also have passions across the whole curriculum.
In my spare time, I like to be walking my dogs, traveling about in my camper and adventuring to finding hidden gems to explore with my family.
